Current Professional Summary

Dr Iwamoto is a professor at the University of Tokyo, where he has conducted basic research on HIV/AIDS since 1994 in the Division of Infectious Diseases of the Institute of Medical Science. He also oversees the HIV clinic in the Institute of Medical Science Research Hospital. Dr Iwamoto's research interests include a wide range of both basic and clinical aspects in HIV medicine, such as HIV pathogenesis, host immune responses against HIV, therapeutic vaccines, host genetic factors, and opportunistic infections.
