Essential Management of HIV Infection Our latest pocket card contains current summaries of published recommendations from the IAS–USA Panel on Antiretroviral Treatment of Adult HIV Infection and the IAS–USA Drug Resistance Mutations Panel. The card contains easy-to-read information on initiation of antiretroviral therapy, selection of regimens, patient monitoring, and changing therapy. The card also contains a current list (as of Nov 2011) of mutations associated with clinical resistance to HIV. Click here for more information and order form. Oral Manifestations of HIV Disease HIV-related oral conditions occur in a large proportion of patients but are frequently misdiagnosed or inadequately treated. Common conditions include xerostomia, candidiasis, oral hairy leukoplakia, periodontal disease, Kaposi sarcoma, and ulcerative conditions. Click here for more information and order form. Dermatologic Manifestations of HIV Disease Although the frequency of dermatologic diseases in HIV-infected patients has decreased with the use of potent antiretroviral therapy where it is available, dermatologic disorders remain common in the HIV-infected population. Common conditions include inflammatory diseases, infectious diseases, and neoplastic diseases. Two cards relating to HIV dermatologic manifestations are available: Common Skin Diseases in HIV-infected Patients in the Antiretroviral Era and Dermatologic Manifestations of HIV Infection in Africa. Click here for more information and order form. HIV Drug Resistance Mutations As of January 2012, the HIV Drug Resistance Mutations Figures card has been replaced by the Essential Management of HIV Infection card (above). The Essential card contains a current list of HIV-1 drug resistance mutations, as well as treatment recommendations. The most recent list of mutations is available online in the November 2011 issue of Topics in Antiviral Medicine and as a downloadable PowerPoint file. Click here for more information on the IAS–USA Drug Resistance Mutations.
