OVERVIEW

The 9th Annual Clinical Update for Ryan White CARE Act (RWCA) Title I, II, III, and IV practitioners was held in conjunction with the 2006 Ryan White CARE Act (RWCA) Grantee Update from August 28-31, 2006 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC.

The goal of the Clinical Update was to provide a comprehensive overview of current clinical issues in HIV management and current strategies in HIV medical care for practitioners in RWCA Title I, II, III, and IV funded programs. This state-of-the-art Continuing Medical Education (CME) program included 2.5 days of lectures and interactive workshops. Attendees were encouraged to bring cases and questions for discussion.

The Clinical Update is co-chaired by Laura W. Cheever, MD, ScM, Michael S. Saag, MD, and Donna E. Sweet, MD. The Clinical Update is planned and supported in collaboration with staff from the HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the US Department of Health and Human Services. This activity has been approved for AMA PRA credit.
