Downloading the Latest Version of Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player
- You can download the latest version of Windows Media Player for free within a matter of minutes from the Windows Media Player site.
- Under Download Information, select:
- a. download: Windows Media Player
- b. version: Player 7.1 for Win98, Win 2000, Win me or Player 7.01 for Mac (OS 8.1 or later)
- c. language: (select appropriate language)
- The requested player download will appear at bottom of screen. To start download, click "Download Now" button. At pop-up window will ask what you would like to do with this program, select "Save this program to disk" and click "ok". Save file in appropriate location on your computer. The download will begin immediately after you a have selected a location.
- Once download is complete, click "open". When asked if you want to continue Windows Media Player set-up, select "yes". At user agreement, select "yes". Set-up will begin immediately.
- Once set-up is complete, the Windows Media Component Setup begins. Select "next" at prompt. After reading the privacy statement, check "I have read the privacy statement" and select "next". On the installation page, click "next" (you will need all the components listed). On the customized player page, also click "next". On the final installation page, click "next". Installation will begin immediately.
- Once completed, select "finish". You will now have Windows Media Player automatically available on your computer.
