Quick Start Guide for New and Returning Users

Users with an Existing IAS–USA Web Account: To access your account, click the LOG IN button in the upper left corner and enter your account credentials. Click Reset your password to recover lost or forgotten account information, and follow the instructions provided.

New Users: If you do not have a web account on the IAS–USA website, please create a new account by clicking the Create an Account button in the upper left corner. Enter the information requested.

After you log in, you may update your profile, view activities you have participated in, view courses you are registered for, and access your CME history.

Accessing Account Features: After you log into your account, the Create an Account button will be replaced with your name. To view additional account features, hover your mouse pointer over your name and select the feature you are interested in. Key features include:

  • Edit Profile: Update your name, contact information, institutional affiliation, and email preferences.
  • My ActivitiesClaim CME and print certificates, view course registrations, check on your progress for online activities (eg, COWs and TAM).

Step 1: Log in to your account. You must be logged in to register for an activity.

Step 2: Locate the activity on the IAS–USA home page and click on the activity for more information.

Step 3: On the activity page, click the Register button.

Claiming credits and points for an activity

  1. On the My Activities page of your IAS-USA account, find the relevant activity in the table and, .
  2. Complete the evaluation, then click Submit Form.
  3. Click Take the CME/ABIM MOC posttest to start the test.  Note: Be sure to indicate whether you will be claiming ABIM MOC points, which will require a passing grade of 70%.
  4. After completing the posttest, you will be directed to the online claim form, where, once logged in, you will enter the requested information and then click
  5. FINAL STEP: A certificate will then be available for you to print. You can also view your certificate from your IAS–USA account under My Activities. Find the relevant activity in the table and, in the second-to-right (Certificate) column, click on the green sunburst icon to print your certificate. Submit the claim form no later than 30 days after the date of the activity.

ABIM MOC points are intended for internal medicine physicians in the United States who are maintaining their ABIM certification. The points will only be awarded after the successful completion of the posttest. The ABIM will upload the points to your member account after 30 days and notify you by email when it has done so.

  1. On the My Activities page of your IAS-USA account, find the relevant activity in the table and, in the second-to-right (Certificate) column, click on the gray sunburst icon.
  2. Complete the evaluation, then click Submit Form.
  3. You will be directed to the online claim form, where, once logged in, you will click Submit.
  4. FINAL STEP: Once you click Submit, answer “No” to the question “Are you a licensed physician?” A certificate will then be available for you to print. You can also view your certificate from your IAS–USA account under My Activities. Find the relevant activity in the table and, in the second-to-right (Certificate) column, click on the green sunburst icon to print your certificate. Submit the claim form no later than 30 days after the date of the activity.

We work with Educational Review Systems to deliver credits to nursing and pharmacy professionals. For nursing credits, your credit notification will be emailed directly from that organization within 30 days after the deadline to claim credits. For pharmacy credits, your credits will be posted to your NABP CPE profile directly from that organization within 30 days after the deadline to claim credits.

  1. On the My Activities page of your IAS-USA account, find the relevant activity in the table and, in the second-to-right (Certificate) column, click on the gray sunburst icon.

IAS–USA Account

Create an IAS–USA account. By creating this account, you will now be added to our mailing list so we can keep you informed with the latest announcements and updates. You can manage your email subscriptions by clicking Edit Profile and selecting Communication Preferences.

We use iContact to send email invitations about our conferences and new offerings. If you have previously received e-mails from IAS–USA (ie, email_blast@iasusa.org, info@iasusa.org, journal@iasusa.org, registration@iasusa.org, webinar@iasusa.org) and unsubscribed but would like to be added back to our mailing list for updates or to follow up on your IAS–USA registration, there are 2 ways to resubscribe:

  1. Resubscribe with a previously received email
    1. Open a previous email that was received from IAS–USA.
    2. Click the Unsubscribe or Manage your subscription link in the footer of the email.
    3. Check the box next to the appropriate list.
    4. Click the Update button.
  2. Send a request to deliverability@icontact.com to be added back to the IAS–USA email list. Send the e-mail from the address at which you want to receive material. Include the organization name (IAS–USA) on the account and the name(s) of the list(s) to which you want to resubscribe.

Do not create a new account. 

  1. Log into your current account, using your previous email address and password
  2. Hover over your name at the top of the page and select “Edit profile”
  3. Click Settings
    1. Type in your ”Current Password”
    2. Type in new “Account Email”
    3. Click Save Changes
  4.  An email is sent to your new email address
    1. Click on the link within the email to confirm your email address change

Registrants who are unable to attend must email registration@iasusa.org to cancel their attendance as soon as possible.

American Medical Association (AMA) Physician’s Recognition Award CME guidelines state that only physicians are eligible to receive CME credits. Other health care professionals will receive a Certificate of Participation. The American Academy of HIV Medicine will honor certificates of participation as proof of participation for the credentialing process. Nurses may be eligible for American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) credit and pharmacists may obtain Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) credit.

Obtaining CME credit, ABIM MOC points, Nursing or Pharmacy credits, or a certificate of participation will require that you complete an evaluation of the activity. After the activity has ended, a link to the evaluation form and a posttest will be activated in your IAS–USA account under My Activities and sent to you via email by 5:00 pm (PT).

 

How to Claim CME Credits and/or ABIM MOC Points

You must have an ABIM ID number to earn ABIM MOC points. This is a 6-digit number issued by ABIM. Be sure to include that number and your date of birth on your IAS–USA profile page.

  1. On the My Activities page of your IAS-USA account, find the relevant activity in the table and, in the second-to-right (Certificate) column, click on the gray sunburst icon (✺).
  2. Complete the evaluation,
  3. When you get to the end of the evaluation, click Submit Form. Click Take the CME/ABIM MOC posttestto start the test.  Note: Be sure to indicate if you will be claiming ABIM MOC points, which will require a passing grade of 70%
  4. FINAL STEP: After completing the posttest, click online CME claim form at the top of the Thank You page. Once logged in, you will answer “yes” to the question “Are you a licensed physician?“; enter the CME hours you wish to claim; and click Submit.

A certificate will then be available for you to print. You can also view your certificate from your IAS–USA account under My Activities. Find the relevant activity in the table and, in the second-to-right (Certificate) column, click on the green sunburst icon () to print your certificate. Submit the claim form no later than 30 days after the date of the activity.

You need to complete the evaluation form to receive your Certificate.

On the My Acitivites page of your IAS-USA account, find the relevant activity in the table and, in the second-to-right (Certificate) column, click on the gray sunburst icon to complete the evaluation to claim Certificate.

Email your request to registration@iasusa.org. There is a $10.00 administrative fee for reproducing a certificate.

Cancellation and substitution requests must be made 7 or more days before the date of an  activity. All refunds will be processed minus a $15.00 processing charge. Regrettably, any cancellation requests received within a week before the course will not be eligible for the partial refund.

For a copy of your receipt

  • Login to your account on the IAS–USA website (www.iasusa.org)
  • Hover over your name in the upper right corner and select “My Activities”
  • Scroll down to “My Events” and click on the “Actions” dropdown menu to the right of the event you want the receipt for
  • Select the “View Receipt” option

Your virtual badge can now be found in your IAS–USA account. Please note: the information on your badge is pulled directly from your account information. If anything is incorrect, please update your account.

  1. On the My Activites page of your IAS-USA account, flevant activity in the table under Live Events
  2. In the far-right column, click on the dropdown menu and select Print Badge

The badge is approximately 4×3 but can be printed on 8 ½x11 paper and cut out.

Lunch will be served and is designed to meet most dietary needs. If you have strict dietary restrictions, such as food allergies, or if you keep kosher, please come prepared with your own meal.

The International Antiviral Society–USA offers American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) points.

  • ABIM MOC points are intended for internal medicine physicians, in the United States, who are maintaining their ABIM Board Certification.
  • ABIM MOC points will only be awarded after the successful completion of the evaluation component demonstrating knowledge gained at all meetings through a series of multiple choice questions.
  • Data will be uploaded to PARS 1 day after the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) post-test has closed.
  • Once the data is in the PARS system, it will be transferred to ABIM within 72 hours.
  • Once ABIM receives the information, they will upload it to the member account and send the doctor an email, informing them that ABIM MOC points have been added to their account.

Webinars

Log in to your IAS–USA account, the click Register on the webinar activity page. There is no cost to register. Registrants will receive an email before the event with a web address for the webinar and instructions for joining the webinar room.

Registrants who are unable to attend must email IAS–USA to cancel their attendance as soon as possible.

The webinar will be hosted on Zoom, an online meeting platform that is compatible with Mac, Windows, and mobile operating systems.

For physicians who did not participate in the live activity, CME credits will be available for viewing the archived webinarABIM MOC points and Pharmacy and Nursing credits will not be available for viewing the archived webinar.

If IAS-USA is given permission by the webinar speaker, the webinar slides will also be posted to the individual activity page. You are welcome to contact the speakers themselves and ask if you can have a copy of the slides.

You must be preregistered and confirmed in the IAS–USA system by 10:30 AM PT on the day of the webinar to be eligible to claim credits or a certificate.  If you feel that you were preregistered, please email registration@iasusa.org.
