A 42-year-old heterosexual man presents to the clinic with a 4-day history of urethral discharge and dysuria. He reports having sexual intercourse with a woman 3 days prior to symptom onset while he was traveling in Thailand. He has genital discharge, which shows Gram-negative diplococci on stain. Which of the following is the most appropriate next step in management?
A. Send urine for Neisseria gonorrhoeae/Chlamydia trachomatis nucleic-acid amplification testing (NAAT), and treat with ceftriaxone 500 mg intramuscularly once
