Topics in Antiviral Medicine (formerly Topics in HIV Medicine) is an English-language journal covering current issues in medical care of people infected with HIV or other viruses. The journal is indexed in Index Medicus/MEDLINE and PubMed, and is edited by Dr Douglas D. Richman. The journal features summaries of talks given at IAS–USA CME courses, highlights of scientific meetings, and special review articles on salient topics in the management of viral infections. Selected articles offer CME credit.
The International Antiviral Society–USA commissions volunteer panels of experts to develop clinical practice recommendations and guidelines in areas of antiviral medicine that are confusing or controversial. These recommendations are published in leading journals, such as Journal of the American Medical Association, Clinical Infectious Diseases, and Journal of AIDS. Funding for guidelines development is provided by the IAS–USA and commercial support is not accepted. Expert panel members participate on a volunteer basis.
