Editorial Policy

The views and opinions expressed in this journal are those of the contributors and do not necessarily reflect the views or recommendations of the IAS–USA. Topics in Antiviral Medicine is supported through educational grants from several commercial companies that are committed to supporting continuing medical education about HIV and other viral infections. In the interest of an objective, balanced, and scientifically rigorous publication, the IAS–USA seeks funding from companies with competing products; these companies have no input into or control over the journal content or the selection of contributors.

All authors and contributors provide disclosures of financial interests, and this information is available at the end of each article.

This journal may contain information about the investigational uses of drugs or products that are not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. Please consult full prescribing information before using any medication or product mentioned in Topics in Antiviral Medicine.

Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice

The IAS–USA believes that monitoring publishing ethics is a major component of the editorial and peer-review process of any scholarly publication and thus falls within the purview of the editor in chief, the editors, and the executive editor of our peer-reviewed journal, Topics in Antiviral Medicine, or TAM (formerly Topics in HIV Medicine®).

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal contributes to the scholarly record as a whole. The IAS–USA takes this responsibility seriously and supports adherence to agreed-upon standards of expected ethical behavior—such as those outlined by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors and published in its Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly work in Medical Journals (http://www.icmje.org/recommendations/)—for all parties involved in the publishing process: the author(s), the perspectives presenters, the journal editors, the editorial staff, the peer reviewer(s), and the publisher.
