Ronald T. Mitsuyasu, MD

The IAS–USA award for Lifetime of Leadership in the area of scientific, academic, and educational mentorship and leadership was established, and first given in 2010, to honor those individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the field of HIV medicine and research, and to HIV physician education and training to improve the treatment, care, and quality of life for people with HIV. In particular this award is presented to those who have been instrumental in furthering the mission of IAS–USA.

The IAS–USA awarded the IAS–USA Lifetime of Leadership Award to Ronald T. Mitsuyasu, MD, for his relentless pursuit of progress in the fight against HIV and, in particular, related cancers on February 13, 2025.
