January 20, 2025: Tirzepatide Dose and Weight Loss in a Person With HIV

A 52-year-old woman with HIV presents for routine follow-up care. She has an undetectable plasma HIV RNA level and currently takes aspirin 81 mg daily, rosuvastatin 20 mg daily, lisinopril 20 mg daily, and tirzepatide 10 mg weekly. Over the past 3 months, she has achieved 10% weight loss through a combination of lifestyle changes and medication support. Her current weight is 216 lb, with a body mass index of 34 kg/m2. Her last hemoglobin A1c level was 6.0%. She would like to achieve an additional 8% weight loss to reach a goal weight of 200 lb or lower.
