A. Treat with a single dose of benzathine penicillin (2.4 million U given intramuscularly [IM] in the buttocks), and schedule him to return for 2 more doses given at weekly intervals. Order follow-up VDRL titer 3 months after completion

B. Treat with a single dose of benzathine penicillin (2.4 million U given IM in the buttocks). Order follow-up VDRL titer in 3 months

C. Treat with intravenous ceftriaxone (1 g intravenously or IM daily for 7 days). Order follow-up VDRL titer 3 months after completion

D. Treat with doxycycline (100 mg orally twice daily for 14 days)

E. Treat with a single dose of azithromycin (2 g orally)
