2020 Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program CLINICAL CONFERENCE Updates
In light of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, HRSA’s HIV/AIDS Bureau is making the 2020 Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program CLINICAL CONFERENCE virtual. The conference dates will now extend from August 9 to 12, 2020 to accommodate adjusted times and shorter program days.
We know many of the registered attendees and speakers are working on the front lines of the COVID-19 response around the world. This virtual format will allow those on the front line to still have an opportunity to attend the conference and not take them away from the communities they are working hard to serve. Some of the standard features we are implementing virtually are:
- State-of-the-art didactics
- Live question-and-answer sessions
- Interactive panel discussions
- Interactive meet-the-expert breakout sessions
All Marriott Marquis Washington, DC hotel reservations will be cancelled on behalf of registered attendees. There is no need to contact the hotel to request a reservation cancellation.
We will provide more detailed information on the virtual format in the coming weeks. Please be sure to check the IAS–USA website regularly for updates.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created an urgent need for reliable scientific information. Our understanding of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 disease changes almost daily. Unfortunately, there are also misunderstandings, miscommunications, and controversies. In response, the IAS−USA has created a program that will bring together leading experts to discuss the latest science regarding COVID-19 and what the data and research are telling us about the basic science, public health, and clinical aspects of the disease and the consequences of the pandemic. For more information, please click here.

2020 Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program CLINICAL CONFERENCE Updates
In light of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, HRSA’s HIV/AIDS Bureau is making arrangements to host the 2020 Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program CLINICAL CONFERENCE virtually. This conference is currently scheduled for August 9-11, 2020 in Washington, DC.
Your health, well-being, and safety are the top priority for the HIV/AIDS Bureau. Although there is not yet sufficient data on whether people with HIV are more susceptible or more likely to develop severe disease, we must take every precaution to reduce any potential risk to the vulnerable population the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program serves.
The HIV/AIDS Bureau knows many of the registered attendees and speakers are working on the front lines of the COVID-19 response around the world. This virtual format will allow those on the front line to still have an opportunity to attend the conference and not take them away from the communities they are working hard to serve.
If the conference is hosted virtually, all Marriott Marquis Washington, DC hotel reservations will be cancelled on behalf of registered attendees. Recipients and stakeholders will not need to request a hotel reservation cancellation.
Please stay tuned for more information.

Registration Fee Refunded
We will be processing full refunds for everyone who registered for one of the regional IAS–USA 2020 spring HIV courses. Earlier, we had offered the option of transferring registrations to a later live course, but the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has made it so we do not know when this will be.
Thus, our decision to refund all spring course registration fees. Processing these refunds might take several weeks, so we appreciate your patience.
In the meantime, we are offering 2 full-day virtual courses that we hope will meet your needs until we can see each other again. The first one will be on Monday, June 29 and will be on West coast time, the second one will be scheduled for early July and will be on East coast time, though both are open to all. Keep checking the IAS–USA website regularly for the latest updates on these virtual courses.

IAS–USA Virtual Update on HIV: A Focus on Antiretroviral Therapy, New ART Drugs and Strategies, and the Intersection of COVID-19 and HIV
Monday, June 29, from 10:00 am to 3:15 pm (PT)
This virtual program is a combination of the postponed Los Angeles and San Francisco courses. We know it is difficult for you to dedicate an entire day to participate in a virtual course during this time, so we have narrowed down the topics to the key issues most of you are currently focused on. Other topics related to comorbidities, issues in aging, and so on will be covered in our COW webinar programing.
More details on the presentation topics, CME hours, and learning objectives will be available soon.
Though the timing is to accommodate our West Coast audience, the course will be open to everyone. We will have a virtual course for the East coast in early July. Check the IAS-USA website regularly for details.
