The IAS–USA offers this state-of-the-art activity on the evolving challenges of managing HIV disease as part of a nationwide continuing medical education (CME) effort for physicians.

This webinar will summarize the epidemiology and pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease in people living with HIV, with a focus on coronary heart disease. It will also address the evaluation and management of cardiovascular risk factors in this population.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this webinar, learners will be able to:

• Summarize the epidemiology of coronary heart disease in the HIV population
• Describe the roles of HIV-related factors and antiretroviral therapy in the pathogenesis of coronary heart disease
• Discuss the limitations of current approaches to estimating cardiovascular risk in people living with HIV

Conflicts of Interest

In the interest of maintaining the independence of its CME activities, and in accordance with the policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the IAS–USA requires all persons with control of content (eg, faculty, IAS–USA Board members, and program staff) to disclose any financial relationships that they or their spouses or partners have had with commercial companies within the past 12 months. The ACCME does not consider providers of clinical service directly to patients to be commercial interests – unless the provider of clinical service is owned, or controlled by, an ACCME-defined commercial interest.”
