Overview

Assessment of Needs

Dermatologic conditions remain common among people with HIV (PWH) and may present with atypical features, diagnostic uncertainty, or management challenges related to immune status, antiretroviral therapy regimens, and patient comorbidities. This webinar will go beyond Kaposi sarcoma (KS) to review the diagnosis and management of non-KS dermatologic conditions in PWH, highlighting common and clinically significant presentations, key diagnostic considerations, and evidence-based treatment strategies to support patient care.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the features of common and clinically significant non–KS-related dermatologic conditions in PWH, such as herpes simplex, psoriasis, human papilloma virus, and tinea
  • Utilize evidence-based diagnostic and management strategies for dermatologic conditions in PWH, including treatment considerations related to immune status and antiretroviral therapy regimens
  • Integrate patient-centered approaches to improve outcomes for PWH experiencing dermatologic conditions
