Clinical Role of M184I/V in Current and Future HIV Management

Assessment of Needs

The clinical relevance of M184I/V continues to evolve as HIV treatment strategies incorporate dual therapies, archived resistance testing, and novel antiretroviral agents. Clinicians need updated knowledge on the biologic and clinical impact of M184I/V on different antiretroviral regimens, including its effects on viral fitness, synergism, and antagonism. This webinar activity comprises 3 lectures and a question-and-answer session, and will provide historic context for M184IV mutations, discuss current evidence on the relevance of archived M184I/V mutations, and provide practical guidance for optimizing treatment decisions in contemporary and future HIV treatment management.

In the interest of maintaining the independence of its continuing medical education (CME) activities, the International Antiviral Society–USA (IAS–USA) requires all persons with control of educational content (eg, faculty, Scientific Leadership Board, Governance Board, and program planner) to disclose any financial relationships with ineligible companies (previously defined as “commercial interests”) that they have had within the past 24 months. The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) defines ineligible companies as “those whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients.”
