Assessment of Needs
This case-based webinar, led by Michael S. Saag, MD, will discuss the management of antiretroviral therapy (ART) in individuals with HIV in whom their first antiretroviral regimen has failed and those for whom numerous treatment regimens have failed. The webinar will also discuss when and how to use resistance testing when managing ART failure.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to:
- Identify antiretroviral therapy failure and subsequent treatment options in patients with HIV, including individuals on their first regimen as well as those on second regimens and beyond
- Design an effective regimen for multidrug regimen failure
- Describe when and how clinicians use resistance testing for the management of patients with HIV

Who Should Attend
This webinar is designed for clinical decision makers who are actively involved in HIV care and research, including physicians, physician assistants, nursing professionals, pharmacists, and other health care professionals.
Individual registration is required in order to receive CME credit or a certificate of participation.

Conflicts of Interest
In the interest of maintaining the independence of its continuing education activities, and in accordance with the policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the IAS–USA requires all persons with control of content (eg, faculty, IAS–USA Board members, and program staff) to disclose any financial relationships with ineligible companies (previously defined as “commercial interests”) that they or their spouses or partners have had within the past 24 months. CME Credits
The International Antiviral Society–USA (IAS–USA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The IAS–USA designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
ABIM MOC Point
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.25 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
